| Infinity Miniatures from Corvus Belli |
That's because Morrow Project personal are essentially cryogenically frozen disaster relief teams tasked with re-building society after the Apocalypse hits. They've all been cross-trained for combat, but their about rebuilding society rather than taking over the world. I went with the yellow armour because it fits the emergency worker theme and advertises the team members as being a nonmilitary force. It's also a colour strongly linked to the Morrow Project itself. The relatively pale flesh reflect the fact they've just woken up from cryo-sleep and are wandering a radioactive wasteland, hence their not in the best condition health wise. That's also why the gear is new and not particularly weathered. At this point, they've more or less just crawled out of their hole.
Painting these guys was a blast, as I've always considered the Morrow Project to be my favorite PA setting (along with Twilight 2000). As always, the infinity miniatures are beautiful, but a pain to assemble. My one real gripe is with the way the only clearly black member of the team is sculpted: he looks like every stereotype of a 1950's cartoon character. All credit to the sculptors for including a black skinned character that isn't either a gangster or a yardie, but come on? Couldn't they have done a better job on the guy's face?
Anyway, that's my rant for the day over and done with. More painted miniatures coming over the next few days. Horus Heresy World Eaters for the most part. Until then.
Nice looking job on these. I'm still unsure of my PanOceania trooper paint scheme, so I'm leaving them just now, working on Aleph and my Military order army when I do Infinity.
ReplyDeleteAs for the Croc man, I don't know if there's a massive difference in facial structure between Maori and someone of more African descent. At least they actually did it, with a facial structure that isn't recognisably Caucasian.
If he's supposed to be Maori then the sculpting is even worse!
