Finished these just as the light was going, so we took the photograph while they were still on the painting table. I actually quite like these Mantic dwarf models, though they've been taking pelters from the GW fan-boy crowd. And you can't argue with the price. For less than a hundred quid, you can buy the Mega Army boxed set with110 plastic miniatures and 7 metal ones. Easily enough for a 2000pt Dwarf Army for Warhammer. Now, how much would it cost to buy all that from GW eh? A lot more. Plus the minimal number of parts makes them quick and easy to stick together. Good stuff.
And as an added bonus, Mantic dwarfs don't look like "Torsos with Feet" (I really, really despise the current GW range of plastic dwarfs).
Anyway, here's the first completed unit for my Warhammer army, a regiment of Dwarf Crossbowmen. Painted over the last couple of lunch breaks. Kept it simple with a basic wash for shading and two levels of highlights. Based for fighting on the moors and peat-bogs, where their lack of cavalry and mobility is less of an issue.
