Anyway, as per the customer's request I've glued the World Eater Miniature to his metal base and applied some chipping and blood splatter. No rust though. While these guys strike me as not being the type to care much about their appearance, keeping rust off their kit is a more practical concern. I've also added some soot to around the backpack vents, but you can't really make it out in this shot.

Next up, a lone Battletech Raven for my regular Battletech customer, Matt. It's been painted in the colour-scheme of one of the lances he had me paint for him early on. Many veteran painters disparage dry-brushing as a "beginners" technique, but that doesn't change the fact it provides good results in the right circumstances. Even so, it's not a method I use all that often.

Yes! I love that Brian, you're doing a grand job.
ReplyDeleteGlad your happy! That was quick though, I didn't even have a chance to email you the photo!
DeleteThat ATST looking thing is awesome.
ReplyDeleteSome nice work, hope you get through this cold soon, seems to be hanging around!

Looking good so they are.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, drybrushing is often seen as a beginners technique, that once you are painting for so long aren't supposed to use anymore. I say use it in the right circumstances and it can work, just not all the time.
Thanks for your comments again guys. This cold is not shifting. I ended up having to go to bed after lunch and I'm only just now back on my feet at 20:30. Time to hit the painting table again though.
